Kathy Willingham

Kathy Willingham was born in Clovis, New Mexico.  Her interest in painting Italian, French and Greek scenes come from having a mother from Athens, Greece. Kathy has an undergraduate degree in Art Education and a PhD in American Literature from Texas Tech University. While living in New Mexico, Kathy placed in art shows and she has sold works of art in Charlston, SC at the Eye on Art Gallery.  She is a self-declared colorist, prioritizing her color palette over other considerations. Over the last 20 plus years Kathy has resided in Mississippi. During her career she has worked as a literature professor at Tougaloo College and as an adjunct at Millsaps. Since her retirement from academia, she has been painting full time. She has also authored articles on Hemmingway, Fitzgerald, and the French Surrealists.  She travels extensively in Southern Europe which inspires her landscapes and subject matter.
