After a career in Corporate Administration and Sales and Marketing, Rose had time to pursue her interest in art. She began designing and creating backgrounds for childrens' plays, programs and special projects for children. She attended an art class of local artists sharing various styles and techniques to create a wide array of subjects.
Rose has served as a Board Member of Desoto Arts for several years and is also a member of several art organizations including Memphis Germantown Art League. She has had solo exhibitions at WKNO Gallery Ten Ninety One, Harrell Performing Arts Theatre, The Collierville Museum, and St George’s Episcopal Church Gallery. The artist is also one of the Gallery12 Artists of North Mississippi.
Rose works primarily in acrylic/water media and mixed media in a range of subjects; streetscapes, botanicals, landscapes, and abstracts. She enjoys working with a variety of subjects, mediums and techniques and painting both realism and non-representational art. She focuses on creating great depth and dimension to her paintings. The artist states, "I enjoy bringing together shape, color, texture and linear elements for originality and individuality. For me, abstract art brings together experimentation and creativity with colors and techniques to express emotions of happiness, joy, excitement and adventure for other to enjoy in my paintings."
You can find artwork by Rose Sitton exhibited throughout the year in Mississippi and Tennessee galleries.
