Phil Pringle is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has travelled throughout central Europe and the United States.  He was exposed to oil painting by his maternal grandmother and dabbled in drawing since his childhood.  Following raising two children with his wife Theresa he decided to devote more time to feeding his lifelong passion to express himself in art. Through his paintings, Phil attempts to capture the effects of light through portraiture and landscapes as inspired by John Singer Sargent and Richard Schmid.  He is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionists Society and Portrait Society of America.
