This mixed media piece for me is about seeing into this woman's mind. As a minority and as a woman, I often think about how other think about the world and others. The figure on the left is a self-portrait, undefined as I am unable to ever see myself through another's eyes. I believe we have to learn that each of us have a mind full of combined thoughts and should accept each other an individual collection of butterfly thoughts. We throw so much away, it was important to me to also add some found objects in this piece and the stretch fabric is burlap which adds to the texture and feel of the piece.
