As a native of Ocean Springs, MS, I grew up surrounded by a creative family and community which offered many opportunities to experience working with different mediums. I've enjoyed working with fibers, paints and clay, but my love of texture and mixed elements, and the need to downsize my studio space eventually led me to metalsmithing and beading.
I'm always inspired by the outdoors and have been fortunate to spend the last five years living with my husband aboard our sailboat, hence the need to downsize the studio. I enjoy working mostly in silver and copper. In my work you can find bits of texture applied with hammers and roll printing techniques, and color from stones, enamel, and found objects. I love the natural patinas in nature created by the elements of weather and time. I use various processes to create similar patinas in my jewelry which I feel brings out the beauty of each unique piece of art jewelry.
